Inventory Sales Cloud: Turning a Custom Store into a Scalable SaaS Platform
Inventory Sales Cloud (ISC) was born from the success of ISOY, a wholesale online store we previously built. Seeing the potential to productize this platform, the client approached us to transform the core functionality into a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. ISC would enable other wholesalers to create their own customizable online stores without starting from scratch.
The Challenge
Converting a single-brand e-commerce site into a multi-tenant SaaS platform required major architectural changes. The system needed to:
-
Allow wholesalers to sign up independently
-
Provision and manage separate storefronts
-
Handle subscription payments
-
Scale infrastructure to support multiple clients securely
The Solution
We built a SaaS version of the ISOY system with features designed for scalability and autonomy:
-
Multi-Tenant Architecture: Enabled each wholesaler to have a distinct storefront with individual products, branding, and workflows.
-
Subscription Management via Stripe: Implemented recurring billing for store owners with support for multiple plan types.
-
Tool Integrations:
-
QuickBooks for automated accounting
-
ShipStation for logistics and fulfillment
-
-
Custom UI/UX: Redesigned the interface for multi-user onboarding and storefront setup.
-
AWS Infrastructure: Hosted the platform on AWS for scalability, security, and uptime.
-
Full Admin Control Panel: Allowed system administrators to monitor tenants, manage subscriptions, and deploy changes centrally.
Results
ISC successfully launched as a SaaS platform, allowing wholesalers to go live with their own e-commerce stores in a matter of hours. With a streamlined subscription model and scalable backend, the platform positioned itself as a practical solution for wholesale businesses looking to digitize quickly without hiring developers.
